Ready meals
The name "ready meals" describes variety of hot and cold dishes that require little or no effort in preparation. Ready meals can be classified according to the level of preparation necessary. In this segment we distinguish between following categories:
- Ready to cook - requires no further preparatory steps before cooking (e.g. oven fries)
- Ready to use - must be prepared and perhaps warmed up (e.g. instant potato purée)
- Pre-cooked - often a complete dish or menu that only needs to be warmed up (e.g. pancakes)
- Table ready products - can be consumed immediately (e.g. mixed salads)
